  1 Test Your Marketing

Before fully rolling out any marketing campaign, test it in small numbers first. By doing this, you'll know how to improve your marketing for maximum profits. For example, changing just the headline of an ad can make a huge difference in profits. Elements to test include your mailing list, headline, advertising body copy, offer, design and format. Tabulate each element of the promotional activity and analyze the results to determine what works best. Test only one element at any one time.

  2 Use Bounce-Back Certificates

A bounce-back certificate is given to a customer during their visit and can be redeemed at their next visit. You can offer discounts or freebies, but either way they are a great way to guarantee repeat business.

  3 Partner With A Cinema

Dinner and a movie is a popular night out for lots of people, including families, dating singles, and couples. You can get them through your doors by partnering with a nearby cinema. Offer food discounts if they have ticket stubs, advertise in the cinema, or offer movie-themed menu items or events.

  4 Deal With Complaints Promptly

Customers won't always be happy, but you can save their patronage by resolving their problem quickly and to their benefit. If they were unhappy with the food, offer a free meal before the customer even asks. Provide a free meal coupon if they weren't satisfied with the service. If you take care of the situation quickly, they'll be back again.

5 Create Signature Food And Drinks

Don't serve the same boring food that your customers can get anywhere. Work with your cooks and bartenders to create special menu items and mixed drinks that your customers won't find anywhere else. Then when they get hungry (or thirsty) for that item, they only have one place where they can get it.

6 Give Guests Something While They Wait

On busy nights, your hungry guests may get so tired of waiting for a table that they go somewhere else. You can prevent this loss of business by offering drinks or other food for people to snack on while they wait. It will make the wait more bearable.

7 Invite Customers to Training Sessions

When you train new staff members, ask a couple of regular customers to come in. They can give new servers valuable insight on what to do and what not to do when working in the restaurant.
